Case Jernigan grew up by the ocean in Charleston, South Carolina. He drew flying heroes and hairy monsters across every school notebook. He studied classical history and painting at William & Mary and the New York Studio School. Fascinated by light up toys, 1980’s Japanese animation and early videogames, Case makes artwork and short films about overwhelming nostalgia, personal escape and fighting depression. His animations have been selected as Vimeo Staff Picks and screened at festivals like The Santa Fe Film Festival and #11MM Berlin. His residencies include The Center for Book Arts, NY and The Saltonstall Foundation. His illustrations and animations have been commissioned by major media outlets and brands like The New York Times, The Guardian, ADIDAS, and Nike.
